Finalist for The Federation of Holistic Therapists Excellence Awards – for Innovation
📣Whoop! Whoop Exciting News!
I’m thrilled to have been named a finalist in the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) Excellence Awards 2025 in the Innovation category. This recognises my dedication to developing dementia-informed massage practices and training programs that empower therapists and carers to deliver compassionate, inclusive care. My latest innovations include the recently accredited course, another 1st in the UK for me, “Aromatherapy for Persons Living with Dementia” which combines the art and science of essential oils use to improve wellbeing and health outcomes for people living with dementia.
My blended approach combines affective touch, compassionate communication, trauma-informed principles and person-led care to help reshape how therapeutic touch is understood and delivered within our communities.
I’m honoured to be recognised by the FHT for innovation. This work is about more than technique and it’s bigger than the training —it’s about changing perceptions, taking the fear out of offering our services and using touch to restore dignity, connection and comfort to people who are often overlooked. I share this passion with every therapist, every carer who dares to work differently and every client who teaches us how to listen with our ears, eyes, hands, heart and conscience.
The FHT Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in complementary therapy and the Innovation category highlights individuals pushing boundaries to improve health and wellbeing. The FHT will be announce the winners on 3rd November.
I’ll keep you posted!
